What does ceramic coating actually do?
We apply Gtechniq and CCI ceramic coatings — nano-ceramic formulas built around silicon dioxide that cure into a hard, glass-like 9H layer on top of your clear coat. Think of it as a sacrificial shield: it takes the abuse from UV rays, road grime, bird droppings, and minor scratches so your actual paint underneath doesn't have to. The hydrophobic surface makes water bead up and roll off, taking dirt with it, so washing becomes faster and less frequent.
Ceramic coating vs. wax or sealant
Wax and sealant sit on top of your paint and wear off within weeks to a few months. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to the clear coat itself, forming a much harder, thicker layer that holds up for years, not weeks. It won't wash off, and it stands up to Utah's harsh sun, road salt, and construction dust far better than anything you'd apply by hand in your driveway.
Do I need paint correction first?
If your paint has swirls, scratches, or oxidation, we recommend paint correction before applying ceramic coating. Coating locks in whatever condition your paint is in, so correcting imperfections first gives you the best, longest-lasting result. Paint correction is available as part of our detailing service, and we can bundle both into one visit.
How long does the application take?
Most paint ceramic coating applications take a full day in our shop, longer if paint correction is done first. We recommend keeping the vehicle dry for 24–48 hours afterward while the coating fully cures.
Can you come to me?
No — ceramic coating is applied in our Sandy shop, not on-site. A proper application depends on a clean, dust-free, temperature-controlled environment for the coating to bond correctly, which a shop bay gives us and a driveway can't.
